Reading the Great Books from a Catholic Point of View
A book is a literary compass that has the potential to direct our thoughts and actions:
"Everything we read stimulates our mind to think, and what we think determines what we desire, and desires are the seedbed of our actions. Given this iron law of human nature--from reading to thinking, to desiring, to acting--we are shaping our destiny by the ideas we choose to have enter our minds through print." - Fr. John Hardon, S.J., The Catholic Lifetime Reading Plan
Welcome to my own personal exploration of life through reading the great books of the world.

Hmmmm. I am usually very cynical about movies of beloved old tv shows. I loved Speed Racer as a child. My mom would never let us watch tv during the school year. We were only allowed to watch it during the summer when we were hot and bored. But our neighbor across the street used to let her kids watch tv. So I and my sisters would get home from school, greet our mother and then ask if we could play at our neighbor's. We'd get to watch Speed Racer and Ultraman that way! Ah! The taste of forbidden fruit is so much sweeter.
I am waiting for the reviews on this one.
Go Speed Racer! Go! Who's Sarandon going to play? She's a bit too mature for Trixie.
Susan Sarandon will play Mom Racer and John Goodman will play Pops Racer. I remember Pops from the animated series but I don't remember Mom.
Christina Ricci plays Trixie, and she looked exactly like her in the press conference.
Oh, I hadn't watched the conference yet, Ricci does look like Trixie! I don't remember Mom Racer either. Should be a fun movie.
